After registration on our priority list, you should have received a confirmation email from Republic (formerly Seedrs) that you’re on the priority list to be the first to know when the private investment phase opens up. If you’re new to Republic and feeling a bit lost, don’t worry. Here’s a quick guide to get you all set for the investment period starting soon. 

If your profile is not completed before the investment round starts, you may miss the opportunity to invest. Please note that Republic's platform requires 24 hours to verify your profile before you can invest through their platform.

➡️ Step 1: Finalise a Republic account

Login to your Republic profile to see if there is any information missing that you need to add.

• Enter your email address, create a password, and verify your email address via the link sent by Republic.

• Fill in your name, date of birth, and country of nationality, ensuring it matches your identification documents.

• Fill in your address and confirm your tax residency, providing your tax identification number if applicable. The tax ID number for Swedish citizens is the same as the personal identification number. The easiest way to get you TIN is to Google TIN + your country for more information. 

All done? Awesome! Let’s move on.

➡️ Step 2: Complete the quiz & Select your investor profile

• You will be asked to answer five mandatory questions to ensure you understand the risks of investing in startups. You can read more about the risks here.

• You’ll be asked to answer three additional questions to confirm your qualifications and understanding of the risks.

• Failed the quiz twice? Don’t worry! You’ll be able to try again in just 24 hours.

Next, choose between the profiles *Sophisticated Investor* and *Non-sophisticated Investor*. Select the one that suits your profile best.

➡️ Step 3: Verify your identity

You will have to confirm that you understand and accept the Risk Warnings. Then, choose *Verify me now and be ready to invest*, ensuring that your profile is ready when our investment round begins.

To confirm your identity, Republic requires an identification document or digital ID, such as a passport, driver's license, ID card, or residence permit, as well as a video of your face to confirm that it is you. Once you have chosen the type of identification document you want to use, simply follow Republic's guide to upload the document. This requires you to have a smartphone available to receive a secure link to upload the document.
